DESCRIPTION: \nJoin us for an enchanted evening where you’ll be part of an immersive arts experience like no other – where the boundaries between film and live music blur. Come and listen to classically trained musicians improvise to the background of Studio Ghibli’s stunning film animation ‘The Red Turtle’.\nAnd that’s not all…  you’ll be a part of the magic as you help create live sound effects for the first 30 minutes of the film, adding your unique touch to the narrative unfolding on the screen.\nYou’ll become the sound of an island forest, scuttling beach creatures and seabirds using your voice or instruments in a short workshop before the screening, and then sit back and enjoy musicians including Kieron Chissik and Gareth Wilkins play to this stunning animation.\n “This wordless animated fable follows the fortunes of a shipwrecked man on an island – and it’s a masterpiece.” – The Guardian (*****)\nMagnificent, detailed animation captures the delicate balance and wonder of life, death, and the power of the landscape  – The Guardian\nFeel free to come along early as there will be live music before the screening, a food stall, and no need to bring your own drinks – there will be a bar throughout the evening.\nEvening programme:\n7:30 – 8:00pm: Live music\n8:10pm: Live music workshop with live cinema performers Kieron, Gareth and Jack\n8:45pm: Film and live music performance of Red Turtle starts (running time 80 minutes)\n10:10pm: Film ends\nTicket price: £15 for general tickets, £10 for concessions.\nThis event is suitable for participants that are 8 years old and above.\nFind out more about the film and workshop here ( https://thecabinetoflivingcinema.org.uk/project/studio-ghiblis-the-red-turtle/ ).
