Please email us to get on our waiting list if you have left it too late!  info@sandyhillarts.co.uk ( mailto:info@sandyhillarts.co.uk )\nPunk poet, dub ranter, singer-songwriter, early music punk pioneer, writer and social commentator…  Join us for a fabulous evening of poems, songs, stories, dub poems and a bit of early music  –  7 for 7.30, with two 45 minute sets taking us to around 9.30.\nRadical-force-of-nature performance poet/musician Attila the Stockbroker is entering his  45th year touring the world as a self sustaining DIY one man cottage industry, after being discovered by legendary Radio One DJ John Peel in the early 80s.\nHe has led his ‘medieval punk’ band Barnstormer for over 20 years as well as the solo stuff  he will perform for us – but he did his first ever punk gig as bass player in Brighton Riot Squad in 1977 in Brighton’s legendary Vault, where coffins and skeletons from nineteenth century Huguenot plague victims kept coming through the walls. Running the door at someone else’s gig there, he once used a nineteenth century baby’s lead coffin as a cashbox.\nWell over 3000 gigs in 24 countries (including East Germany before the wall came down and then again immediately after it did) and at least 40 LPs/EPs/CDs and 7 books of poetry.  Above all, though, his message is a simple one: you don’t need to be ‘a celebrity’ to have a wonderful life earning your living doing what you love. You just have to have a way with words, the self-confidence and organisational ability of Napoleon and a skin thicker than the armour of a Chieftain tank.\nThis is a small, part-seated gig in our Room 14 performance and exhibition space.  Please park offsite or use public transport – our parking is very limited   We can accommodate you if you have mobility issues – let us know once you have booked and we will reserve a space for you.\nWe have been trying to book him for ages – we are delighted to be part of his current Tory*Free tour.  There will be a bar….\n\n
