SUMMARY:Geoff Robb- The Music of Trees
DESCRIPTION: \nJoin Geoff Robb on the 17th June at Sandy Hill Arts in Corfe, winner of the Brighton Fringe Live Music Award, for an evening of magical storytelling and virtuoso guitar that promises to transport you out into the woods.\nIf you love nature and enjoy beautiful acoustic guitar music then this is the show for you!\nInspired by the wonder of the natural world, ‘The Music of Trees’ weaves together storytelling, woodland folklore and mythology with a suite of original compositions featuring Geoff’s signature blend of classical, jazz, Celtic and Spanish influences.\nA master of the acoustic guitar with an intricate, richly harmonic style, Geoff has performed to audiences across the UK and Europe, at venues ranging from Buckingham Palace and The House of Commons to Glastonbury Festival. His show, ‘The Music of Trees’, earned him rave reviews at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe.\nHe studied classical guitar with Paul Gregory (winner of the International Segovia Prize) and also has a diploma in jazz. He has performed Vivaldi’s ‘Concerto for Lute in D’ with The Bath Concertina Orchestra but works mostly as a soloist, playing recitals at arts festivals and guitar festivals across the UK.\nyoutube.com/watch\nTuesday 17 June 7.30-9.30pm £15 \nTo book tickets follow this link : https://loveitlocalmagazine.co.uk/events/geoff-robb-concert/ ( https://loveitlocalmagazine.co.uk/events/geoff-robb-concert/ )\n\nPurbeck Guitar Festival\nAfter the successful Purbeck Guitar Festival 2024 , its organisers are broadening the scope and duration of 2025’s festival.\nOne of their main aims is for the Purbeck Guitar Festival ’25 to be a celebration of the instrument in all its styles, past and present. So they have players incorporating Flamenco, Classical, Blues, Indian and Far Eastern  influences, on instruments like the Lute, Viol, Theorbo, Sitar and Mandolin as well as the good old acoustic and electric guitars of course.\nThey  have some major touring artists as well as more local ones, solo, duets, groups and even orchestras!\nWhile most concerts will be taking place in Lady St Marys Church in Wareham they have a number of other venues in Purbeck: the huge outdoor marquee in Sandy Hill Arts (in Corfe); the magnificent Purbeck stone clubhouse of the Isle of Purbeck Golf Club (in Studland); and the enchanting 15th century barn of Kingston Country Courtyard (Kingston). \n
