Formed on the back of a British Council music exchange with South Africa, they have kept the connection going and have become festival favourites in the UK, also appearing opposite the likes of James Taylor Quartet, Vula Viel, New Cool Collective and many more. They are regulars at the Swanage Jazz Festival and their self-titled debut album was released in 2024 to rave reviews and a sell out gig at the Lighthouse in Poole.\nDan Somogyi: keyboards/guitar\nTerry Quinney: saxophone\nRob Palmer: guitar\nJack Shaughnessy: bass\nNeil Evans: drums\nCheikh Diop – percussion\n\nTHE BOSSA DEFINITIVA TRIO bring their cool Bossa Nova sounds to Sandy Hill Arts. Fronted by Paris born vocalist Véronique Joly, this vocals/sax/guitar trio will perform material from iconic Getz/Gilberto album and also present some more contemporary songs from the genre.
