SUMMARY:FOUR SHORT PLAYS performed: !NEW WRITING!
DESCRIPTION:FOUR NEW SHORT PLAYS BY ESTABLISHED and EMERGING TALENTED PLAYWRIGHTS. \nA FASCINATING AND INSPIRING EVENING OF NEW WRITING! \n4 short plays of around 25 mins with a bar break and a short discussion. Mingle, have a drink, drink in the creative vibe and enjoy the whole evening. We will bring you new, unusual, largely yet unheard material, with actors on stage. For those who love something a bit different and those who are already interested in good quality fringe plays this event is a must!\nPLAYWRIGHTS : ROHAN GOTOBED, ED VINEY, MILLIE HALDANE and ANNABEL WORSFOLD\n♥\n \nMAIN PIC: Annabel Worsfold\nANNABEL WORSFOLD\nAnnabel Worsfold is a Dorset-based theatre maker, poet, and performer. She graduated from Arts University Bournemouth with a First Class Honours degree in Performing Arts and has since developed a multidisciplinary practice rooted in storytelling, collaboration, and community engagement.\nAnnabel has performed in a wide range of productions and writes her own plays, which have been showcased at venues across Dorset, including Lighthouse Poole, The Corn Exchange, Talbot Woods, and The Factory Space. Alongside her creative work, she facilitates workshops with community groups, using theatre as a tool for connection and expression.\nPassionate about supporting new work and underrepresented voices, Annabel co-founded In The Making, a scratch night dedicated to creating space for Dorset’s emerging artists to share work, experiment, and develop their practice.\n \nMILLIE HALDANE\n\nMillie Haldane is a writer from Glasgow, whose work focuses on masculinity, nationalism, and the terse relationship between the two. Having studied on the MA Drama Writing course at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, she has had productions at the Edinburgh Fringe, various black boxes around Bristol and Scotland, and most recently enjoyed a collaboration with English Heritage and Insane Root Theatre Co at Temple Church, Bristol. Her work blends everyday realism with abstract and poetic narrative, with each piece having a unique voice and perspective.\nTwo siblings. One is charming, explosive, funny, horrible, delightful, frightening, wonderful. The other is Her. And she’s just alright.\nPALS is a one woman show charting the relationship between Her, and her brother, exploring violence, masculinity, and what it would be like to live like him for the day.\n \nED VINEY\n\n\nEd Viney is a writer/director based in the South West.  He has worked with various theatres and organisations across the UK creating new contemporary work and staging revivals of classics or forgotten plays. (pic. Darren Britton)\n \nROHAN GOTOBED\n\nRohan Gotobed is a theatre director, writer, and actor. Since training at Birkbeck and the Unicorn Theatre, he’s been working across the UK, predominantly focusing on new plays, site-specific productions, and theatre for young audiences. He’s the artistic director of Dorsetborn, whose recent shows include Georgia and the Iceberg, PRIDE, and Fort. Their play, Lessons from Teacher x by Erin De Frias, toured in April 2026.\n Rohan has previously directed for the National Trust, The National Gallery, and National Youth Theatre, among others. As a writer, he has been commissioned by MAST Mayflower Studios, and received support from Channel 4 Drama, Exeter Northcott, and Mercury Colchester. As part of Inside Out Dorset 2025, Rohan co-created We Fear: Leviathan, performed onsite at Sandy Hill Arts.\n He is Lead Facilitator for Poole Lighthouse Young Writers, a visiting tutor at Arts University Bournemouth, and has delivered workshops for organisations around the UK, including Bournemouth Writing Festival, Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation, Taunton Brewhouse, and Activate Performing Arts.\n \nand …\n \nSEE also 2 day playwriting event with Rohan Gotobed on 5 and 12 July on our website. \nMORE TO FOLLOW ASAP…\n
