Everything is colour.
Having exhibited her documentary based photographic work, during her 25 year career in Post 16 Art Education in Oxfordshire, Elizabeth Brown is now reviewing her medium and responses to a new landscape.
“Motivated by a strong need to express my observations and thoughts, the journey to my studio through Middlebere Heath, drenched in shifting colour and weather variations, became a contemplative challenge. To advance these experiences onto canvas, led me to eliminate form and pursue an imaginary schematic – The DNA of Colour – in which to describe this.”
Part of an on-going investigation, where alterations are made and canvases
reworked – marking time of place with quiet reverence and attention.
Elizabeth has recently been selected by DVA for ‘In Our Nature’ Exhibition; The Dorset Open at Dorchester Museum and the RWA 172nd Open Exhibition, where she was delighted to have been awarded ‘The Andrew Cole Emerging Artist Prize.
