2 Day Playwriting Course

Dorset Playwriting – stories, characters, and theatricality with Rohan Gotobed- a 2 day playwriting course on Sunday 5th and Sunday 12th July

Many writers have taken inspiration from the sites and stories of Dorset, so how can we discover and develop new ways to portray where we live on the stage? Led by playwright and director Rohan Gotobed (Artistic Director of Dorsetborn), this is a workshop to support people interested in either writing for the stage or developing their skillset as writers.

Over these two day (over two weeks) workshops, you will learn new exercises and tools to develop your theatrical voice, working in small groups and on your own to understand the differences between the page and the stage, how to enjoy the unique challenges that come when writing for live performance, all in the wonderful surroundings of Corfe Castle. You will have the opportunity for a follow-up chat with Rohan within one month of the course, to either read something you’ve written, or have a specific discussion around your artistic journey.
