Promising plenty of nostalgia with no love songs whatsoever, CHALK is a folk-classic, trad-modern, fond yet honest spotlight on the South-Western countryside. Each song links to a south west tradition, place, orfolk lyric; but anyone familiar with a similar landscape will recognise the scenery and the duality of our modern relationship with it. If you have ever wondered how to remain proud of ‘your’ culture and traditions whilst being wary of patriotism; if you have wondered how a wildlife rescuer and a wildlife hunter can both claim to love the countryside; if you have wondered how to connect the next generation of children with future generations of animals; if you have ever stepped outside and felt wonder at all, these songs are for you.
