The couple met soon after lockdown. Playing, practising and listening to music together soon became a key part of their love affair. They were married in June 2025. Together the music they make is delicate and expressive and gives the sense of how a deep relationship can inform a musical conversation and spark ideas.
The roaring success of SAHRA’s newest singles, both ‘Alone Again’ and ‘Risk It All’, have garnered the support of tastemakers Gilles Peterson, Jess Iszatt (BBC R1 Introducing), Victoria Jane (BBC R1) Sara Cox (Radio 2), Tony Minvielle and China Moses (Jazz FM).

SAHRA & Theo Announce Debut EP “For You”: An intimate, improvised offering of love, loss and new life. There are moments in life that ask to be held gently. Moments that arrive quietly, without spectacle, yet carry the weight of transformation. “For You”, the debut EP from SAHRA & Theo, lives within that space as a collection of songs born not from intention but from presence. At its heart is the title track, “For You” is a piece that feels less like a composition and more like a breath shared between two people on the cusp of becoming something new, with the debut eponymous track due to release on November 20th, 2026 via Délicieuse Records & Jazz Alley.
Created during the final months before the birth of their first child, debut track “For You” is both a document of transition and a quiet act of devotion both to each other, to the lives they’ve lived, and to the one about to begin. Recorded live in a single take, it began as an improvised instrumental before unfolding, almost instinctively, into a lullaby. That same evening the lyrics emerged simple and disarmingly tender as words spoken not only to their unborn child but also to each other, inviting listeners to share this intimate moment. As SAHRA expresses, “‘For You’ captures the essence of our upcoming project as husband and wife. A full live take of us conversing musically as we move into this new chapter. A simple message of love, hope and pure intention.” In a world that often feels increasingly distant and digitised, SAHRA & Theo offer something resolutely human: music that is raw, unfiltered, and deeply felt.
“A song born from improvisation between me and my wife that became an ode to our unborn child. It holds the freedom of this record, unplanned, honest, and deeply personal.”
TheoThe EP itself was recorded over two days in February 2026 at The Hermitage studio in Forest Hill, a place woven into the fabric of their relationship. With doors open to the first warmth of spring, birdsong drifting into the room, and their dog Otis eagerly watching on; the sessions embraced imperfection and immediacy. Each track was captured live to tape in just a handful of takes, guided by a single principle: to listen, to trust, and to let go. The result is a body of work that feels both fragile and expansive, five pieces shaped by improvisation, memory, and emotional alignment during a time of profound change. Alongside the title track, songs like “Hold Your Hand”, inspired by shared musical experiences in South Africa, and “Will I ever love again?”, a meditation on grief and remembrance, trace a delicate line between loss and renewal. SAHRA (voice, piano) and Theo (saxophone) first crossed paths in 2021, years after their parallel studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. What began as a shared language in music gradually deepened into a life lived side by side shaped by collaboration, intimacy, and an intuitive understanding that extends beyond sound. This EP marks the first time that connection has been fully realised on record.
“The world is full of darkness and disconnection right now. We wanted to make something real, something that feels. This music is about love, loss, hope, and connection. It’s for our child, but it’s also for everyone. We just hope people feel something.”
