Planet Purbeck Cyanotype Workshop – 17th September
Last minute addition… Join Jane Woods for a drop-in cyanotype workshop between 11am and 2pm on Saturday 17th September . Suitable for accompanied children or adults – no need to book. £5 per print, cash please on the day.
Cyanotype is a fun introduction to cameraless photography – it’s safe, easy and creates impressive prints in no time at all. Jane will have suitably treated light sensitive material available and will help you choose some local plant material to make your unique A5 print. The process was invented by astronomer Herschel around 1840 as a way to copy his notes – so this is a real ‘blue print’, the Victorian version of photocopying.
Jane will be running more half day workshops at Sandy Hill Arts in 2023. The process needs strong sunlight so results in the winter months are less satisfactory – this will probably be the last workshop for 2022.

Art was my best subject at school and growing up on Exmoor gave me a love of nature and messing about outside. I wanted to go to art college but instead I turned down a job with the Foreign Office and became an estate agent!
After a long and successful career in the corporate world of pharmaceutical sales, I pursued my interest in coaching and facilitation with the NHS and the private sector, specialising in resilience, emotional wellbeing, trust, collaboration and positive change. I’m also a cancer coach for several cancer charities.
I also became an accredited ILM5 Coach, ILM Wellbeing Coach, Conversations Worth Having/Appreciative Inquiry Trainer, CBT practitioner, and ADHD coach, and I like to combine the benefits of art, nature and wellbeing, where possible.
