
‘Horrible Histories’ Day at Sandy Hill
Sandy Hill Arts, in conjunction with Corfe Castle Library, is delighted to host a special day of events with Martin Brown, illustrator of Horrible Histories and writer.
This day will be the highlight of our summer of free reading sessions, art workshops and a family trail, kindly supported by the Arts Development Company as part of their Culture Quest for families.
Martin Brown will give an entertaining and interactive talk in the morning, suitable for all the family . During the lunchtime he will be selling and signing his books and in the afternoon he will deliver a drawing workshop.
Families will be able to spend the day doing the Horrible Histories trail of Corfe Castle village, attending events at Sandy Hill and having a picnic on our beautiful site.
Martin Brown
Martin Brown is probably best known for being the illustrator of the phenomenally successful Horrible Histories series, which, after 30 years and 30 million copies sold, has become award-winning stage and TV shows, exhibitions, visitor attractions, games and even a movie. Martin has also written and illustrated the Lesser Spotted Animals books, and Nell and the Cave Bear, and Nell and the Cave Bear – The Journey Home, his first forays into fiction.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the funding of Corfe Castle Library and Sandy Hill Arts.
